On September 16, Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Galust Sahakyan met with outgoing Ambassador of China to Armenia Tian Changchun, the parliament’s press service reported.

Galust Sahakyan noted that cooperation with China is one of the priorities of the Republic of Armenia, and during the recent period the cooperation with China deepens, the evidence of which is the assistance of China in the numerous programs being implemented in our country.

Mr Sahakyan highly assessed the balanced position of China in the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.

Speaking about the events dedicated to the centenary of the Armenian Genocide, Galust Sahakyan noted: “The series of events designed next year has a goal to achieve the condemnation of genocides by the entire international community.”

He expressed hope that the delegation of China will also take part in the events scheduled in Yerevan next year.

Expressing his gratitude to the NA Speaker for the effective cooperation, Ambassador Tian Changchun touched upon Armenian-Chinese friendship, which has a centuries-old history and stressed that cooperation of Armenia and China will further deepen and develop in the future.

At the end of the meeting, Mr Sahakyan thanked the Ambassador for the fruitful cooperation, wishing him success in all his initiatives.
