Adviser to Iran’s president: Authorities have provided all conditions for Armenians
“Iranian authorities have provided all conditions for the Armenians,” Ali Younesin, the IRI president’s special advisor on religious and ethnic groups’ issues has stated, reports IRNA news agency.
The advisor to IRI President during his visit to Armenian Diocese in Tabriz has touched upon the life of Iranian-Armenians and has noted in particular, “Armenians have no problems either in their everyday life or in their religious life: the state authorities have provided them with all conditions needed.”
Karen Khanlaryan who is a deputy in IRI Majlis with Armenian origin has noted in an interview to ISNA Iranian agency that the main issue for the Iranian-Armenian community is the Armenian Genocide issue. According to him the 40 percent of the Iranian – Armenians are the descendants of the Armenians murdered during the Genocide.
The Deputy touched upon the number of the followers of the Armenian Apostolic Church and noted, “98-99 percent of the Iranian-Armenians are the followers of the Apostolic Church, while 1-2 percent are followers of Catholic and Protestant churches. At present there are 13-14 million Armenians living throughout the world. The number of the followers of the Armenian Apostolic Church reaches 100 thousand.”
There are two deputies who protect the interests of Armenians in Iran – Karen Khanlaryan and Robert Beglaryan.
