Nairit problem requires immediate solution – Minister
“The complaints and anger of Nairit plant workers are understandable. The President and the Prime Minister are seriously concerned about the situation and an assignment was given to prepare a package of proposals and submit it to the government,” Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan said at a consultation meeting in the Ministry.
The problem has reached a deadlock and requires immediate solution, said the official.
The Minister noted that the salaries of the plant’s workers are paid with the funds of other energy companies and it is no longer possible to continue this way.
Mr Zakharyan asked the plant’s representatives, parliamentarians and other concerned individuals to present proposals on how to tackle the problem.
A representative of Nairit Plant noted, for his part, that the plant is ready for re-operation in case investments are made in it.
