Israel pursues Nazi-style expansion agenda – analyst
A prominent political analyst says the "Nazi nature" of Tel Aviv regime is the main driving force behind the Israeli illegal settlement expansion in the occupied Palestinian land.
“There is no difference between the Israeli behavior you saw—for example-- in Gaza and Israel’s grabbing of the apartments. It is exactly the same as what the Nazis did,” Rodney Shakespeare, political analyst and commentator told Press TV in an exclusive interview on Wednesday.
He also went on to say that Israelis have been pursuing the Nazi aggressive approaches across the occupied Palestinian territory and they are an "expanding entity."
“I am saying this with regret that those Israelis who are supporting the Zionism, and It forms majority of the population. They are the Nazis and are behaving exactly as the Nazis did to the Jews,” Shakespeare added.
The comments come as Israeli settlers have seized 25 Palestinian apartments in one of the neighborhoods of the occupied east Jerusalem al-Quds.
The Israeli settlers seized the apartments in seven buildings in Silwan neighborhood, near the al-Aqsa Mosque compound. The incident led to clashes between the illegal settlers and the Palestinians.
Palestinian officials in the West Bank have condemned the seizure of the buildings. Meanwhile, Israel continues its settlement construction in the West Bank in defiance of international law.
Over half a million Israelis live in more than 120 settlements built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of the West Bank including East al-Quds (Jerusalem). The international community considers the settlements as illegal.
The political commentator also noted that the silence by the US-led West and their regional allies such as Saudi Arabia against genocide has emboldened Israel to commit more crimes against Palestinians.
"Israel is fresh from its genocide in Gaza. Not all, but most of Israelis supported the genocide. The United States government supported that genocide. So the ... Zionists think they can do anything they like, “Shakespeare concluded.
