Another US citizen infected with Ebola in Liberia
Another US national, an NBC News TV channel reporter in Liberia, covering the outbreak of Ebola in the region, was diagnosed with the deadly virus, the news channel has reported, according to RIA Novosti.
According to the TV channel, a 33 year-old infected man was hired Tuesday by NBC News as an assistant to a cameraman, covering the outbreak of Ebola in Liberian capital Monrovia and felt the symptoms of the virus on Wednesday.
ABC TV channel with reference to the father of the infected reporter called his name – Ashoka Mukpo.
"Ashoka is being evacuated to the USA where he will receive the best possible treatment. The doctors are optimistic about his prognosis," the news channel quoted the reporter's father as saying.
Other members of the NBC News crew will also be evacuated to the United States, where they will be kept in quarantine for three weeks.
