US air raids will never kill real terrorists – analyst
A political commentator says the ongoing US-led airstrikes against militant positions ‘will never kill the real terrorists’ in Iraq.
Ali al-Kabbani, a journalist and political analyst from London, said in an interview with Press TV that the “expression collateral damage is a mensal to those innocent civilians who are dying because of the rogue action and terrorist action of the United States and the Western powers.”
“These airstrikes will never kill the real terrorists on the ground,” he added.
The remarks come days after a US airstrike killed at least seven civilians, including children, in northern Iraq.
The attack targeted an eastern neighborhood in the city of Mosul on Friday night as part of the US-led military campaign against the ISIL terrorist group in Iraq.
The United States began targeting positions held by the ISIL Takfiri terrorists in Iraq in August. Washington also launched a military campaign with its Arab allies against ISIL in Syria on September 23.
Kabbani noted that the US-led attacks were aimed at destroying the infrastructure of both Iraq and Syria and dividing the Middle East on ethnic and sectarian lines.
Washington says it is striking ISIL positions in both Iraq and Syria, but there is skepticism on both sides of the border about the real intention of the United States.
The analyst went on to say that the US “intelligent bombs” dropped by the “stupid soldiers” on Iraqi villages and residential areas have already claimed the lives of over a million people since the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.
The analyst concluded that the US and its allies were the main manufacturers and backers of the ISIL, the al-Nusra Front, and several other al-Qaeda affiliated militant groups.
The ISIL terrorists are notorious for carrying out horrific acts of violence in areas they have taken over in Iraq and Syria.
