Armenia, Belarus develop economic ties
Armenian Minister of Economy Karen Chshmaritian received Ambassador of Belarus to Armenia Stepan Sukhorenko on Tuesday.
The main aim of the meeting was to discuss the schedule of the 11th meeting of the Armenian-Belarusian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation that will be held on 23-24 October in Minsk and from the Armenian side will be co-chaired by Minister of Economy Karen Chshmaritian.
Mr Chshmaritian noted that the meeting of the Armenian-Belarusian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation is an important platform to review economic relations of the two countries and to develop new ways for cooperation. He said that the main role of Armenian and Belarusian governments is to improve business climate in their countries so that businessmen can cooperate better.
Thanking the Minister for the meeting, Mr Sukhorenko noted that as a result of meetings of the Armenian-Belarusian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation bilateral economic cooperation has become more visible and gave an example of import of agriculture machinery with support from the Armenian government.
The sides reached an agreement that on the sidelines of the 11th meeting of the Armenian-Belarusian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation Minister Karen Chshmaritian will have official meetings with the relevant ministers of Belarus.
