Earthquake in China kills one, hurts over 320
The number of people, injured in an earthquake in southwestern China, has risen to 324, Xinhua news agency reported Wednesday, with the reference to local authorities, according to RIA Novosti.
Earlier, it was reported that one person was killed in the earthquake.
A 6.6-magnitude earthquake took place on Tuesday evening in China's Yunnan province. Regional authorities have declared the highest emergency response level, sending rescuers to the area.
Some 92,700 people were affected by the earthquake, with over 56,000 of them relocated, Xinhua said, citing the authorities.
The province has seen an earthquake with similar magnitude on August 3, which killed over 600 people and hurt as many as 2,400.
