Seyran Ohanyan discusses Injighulyan’s case with CoE Human Rights Commissioner
Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan presented the details of Hakob Injighulyan’s case at a meeting with Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Nils Muižnieks on Tuesday. Mr Ohanyan said in particular that the Azerbaijani authorities use psychological pressure, torture and death threats against captured soldiers to send them to a third country.
Seyran Ohanyan addressed the ongoing reforms on human rights protection in the Armed Forces of Armenia.
Nils Muižnieks highly assessed the reforms and hailed the progress in the organization of alternative military service in Armenia.
At the end of the meeting, Seyran Ohanyan proposed considering the possibilities for expanding bilateral cooperation on human rights with the Council of Europe Office in Yerevan.
