Ministry: Armenia’s membership in EEU will not lead to foreign investments decline
Armenia’s entry into the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) will not lead to a decline of foreign investments, head of the Armenian Economy Ministry's Investment Policy Department Vahagn Lalayan said on Monday.
Lalayan said that he can name several famous German companies which invest in the mining sector in Armenia.
“As regards new investments, some programs are currently under discussion. Meetings are scheduled with the partners and the respective information will be released later,” he said.
An Armenian-German business forum took place in Yerevan on Monday. Addressing the forum, Margaret Schteffel, representative of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology of Germany, expressed hope that Armenia and Germany will develop bilateral economic relations. She also said that Germany is interested in economic cooperation with Armenia.
