IMF remains our important partner in macroeconomic issues – Armenian PM
On the final day of his working visit to the United States, Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan met with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde.
“The IMF has been and remains our important partner in macroeconomic issues. Macroeconomic stability has been one of our most important achievements since Armenia gained independence, and the IMF has made a great contribution to it,” Hovik Abrahamyan said.
The Prime Minister said that the three-month program approved by the IMF board outlines a new phase in Armenia’s economy and expressed confidence that it will bring Armenia closer to countries with developing markets. He stressed that the Armenian government is determined to go on with the reforms.
Ms Lagarde noted that Armenia is a reliable partner and a full member of the IMF and promised to continue the cooperation with Armenia.
The parties also discussed issues related to economic cooperation.
