Constitutional reform is untimely – Orinats Yerkir MP
Constitutional reform requires two conditions: political consensus and public demand, but these conditions are absent now, deputy chairman of Orinats Yerkir Party, member of Orinats Yerkir parliamentary faction Hovhannes Margaryan told a press conference on Thursday.
In his words, Armenia should further strengthen the institutions of parliament and president. “We should seriously discuss the switchover to the proportional representation system,” Margaryan said.
According to the MP, the people have plenty of problems, which require solutions. “We consider it untimely to address the issue of constitutional reform,” said the parliamentarian.
