Armenian Foreign Minister meets with OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group Igor Popov and Pierre Andrieu and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk.
They continued the discussions on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process and the preparations for the French, Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents’ meeting in Paris in late October, the Armenian Foreign Ministry press service reported.
Mr Nalbandian called the Co-Chairs’ attention to the fact that the ceasefire violations by Azerbaijani forces have multiplied ahead of the Paris meeting and this has become a usual practice for Baku ahead of high-level meetings on Karabakh.
The Armenian Foreign Minister said that on the one hand, Azerbaijan is trying to move the Nagorno-Karabakh talks to other platforms and on the other hand, to ruin the negotiation process within the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship. The Minister highlighted that with its unconstructive steps Azerbaijan shows that it is not ready for a settlement of the conflict.
Edward Nalbandian reaffirmed Armenia’s willingness to continue the joint efforts with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs towards a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
