Baku’s criticism of Yerevan is idle talk – Nalbandian
Criticism by a country, which authoritative international human rights organizations call a model of dictatorship because of flagrant and horrible violations of human rights, is nothing more than idle talk, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said at a joint press conference with UK Minister of State for Europe David Lidington, in response to a question about Baku’s criticism of Yerevan.
“Irrespective of Baku’s goal, I don’t think this criticism can impress anyone beyond Azerbaijan, as well as within the country,” Nalbandian said.
David Lidington, for his part, commenting on the human rights violations and persecutions of human rights activists in Azerbaijan, noted that he has spoken about the recent developments in Azerbaijan and MPs have voiced their concern in this connection in various countries.
“Human rights are and will be an important element for any country,” stressed the politician.
