In Azerbaijan they call to make abusive speeches on air addressed to Armenia
Recently some of the Azerbaijani media, the Televisions in particular, encourage using rude and insulting language when speaking about Armenians and Armenia in their reportages. Moderator.az wonders whether it is acceptable behavior from the professional point of view considering the journalistic ethics and culture.
“Is the Azerbaijani that poor language, that it is impossible to express the hatred and outrage towards Armenia without offensive words and curses?” wonders the news site.
Tevekkul Dadashev, the head of the Planning and Analysis Division of National Radio and Television Council of Azerbaijan, responded to the question. He called on the Azerbaijani mass media to use as many offensive speeches as possible in the reportages and articles about Armenia.
“I do not exclude that the offensive language has been used in address of Armenia: it’s even laudable. Let every TV channel make as many offences as possible in Armenia’s address. I see no problem in this connection. We should speak with Armenia in a language they deserve,” Dadashev has stressed.
