Haykakan Zhamanak: Vache Gabrielyan to head new ministry
As was announced at a cabinet meeting on Thursday, the government will set up a new ministry: Ministry of International Economic Integration and Reforms. Vache Gabrielyan is said to be the most likely candidate to head the ministry, Haykakan Zhamanak says.
According to the newspaper, the creation of the ministry has an exact purpose.
It was reported earlier that between 2014 and 2017, the EU will provide Armenia with about 140-170 million euros assistance under an agreement signed in Brussels on November 3 between Armenian Minister of Economy Karen Chshmaritian and European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn.
Citing its sources, the newspaper claims that there was a precondition that a new ministry should be created and it should be headed by a non-corrupt official who enjoys confidence of the EU.
