Armenian Ombudsman, U.S. Ambassador discuss human rights
Armenian Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan on Monday received U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern, the press service of the Ombudsman’s Office said.
They discussed the challenges of human rights protection. Karen Andreasyan and John Heffern also addressed issues related to Armenia’s legal system.
Ambassador Heffern hailed the activities of the Armenian Ombudsman and his staff.
Mr Andreasyan for his part highlighted the role of the U.S. Embassy in the strengthening of democratic values and the protection of human rights in Armenia. He also stressed the importance of deepening Armenian-American friendly relations.
