Armenia is ahead Azerbaijan in anti-corruption ranking of TRACE International
A non-profit business association TRACE International (an international association that helps companies to comply with anti-corruption legislation), together with the American analytical center Rand Corporation introduced the index of corruption risks, according to which Armenia is ranked 87th out of 197 countries. Georgia was on the 11th place Turkey on the 70th, Russia at 134th, and Azerbaijan at 140th.
TRACE Matrix captures the situation with bribery in all countries of the world. According to the rating, Ireland has been recognized the most non-corrupt country in the world. Canada was on the second place, and New Zealand was on the third, the fourth was Hong Kong, the fifth - Sweden. The top ten most corrupt countries also include Finland, Singapore, Japan, Germany and the USA.
Countries have been evaluated by four main criteria: how the business interacts with the authorities of the country, what kind of anti-corruption laws exist in this country and how they are applied in practice, how transparent civil service and government procedures are, and whether there is a public control over all these processes - including the media.
According to the TRACE Matrix, risky countries from the point of view of corruption are Cambodia, Uzbekistan, Angola, Yemen and Nigeria.
