Scandal around Azerbaijani journalist Fatullayev is discussed at international level
On the background of anti-Israeli demonstrations in European countries, the Azerbaijani authorities create an organization in Strasbourg, where the anti-Israeli demonstrations and propaganda of anti-Semitic rhetoric play a significant role. Ali Hasanov, the head of department of social and political issues of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, supervises the project; Eynulla Fatullayev, the editor in chief of the Azerbaijani portal "Haqqin.az" was involved in the case, the Russian-American publication "Reporter" reads.
The scandal has reached the international levels, site of the European Center for Journalists (ECFJ) also touched the topics.
"The Azerbaijani authorities, found guilty by numerous international organizations for violations of the rights of its own citizens, political repressions and reprisals of oppositional politicians, harassment of activists, human rights defenders and dissidents, decides to go on a desperate step and create in Strasbourg an "independent" human rights organization," writes the "Reporter".
As it is noted in the article, according to official data, the activities of the European Information Human Rights Center (EIHRC) was to be focused exclusively on the monitoring and protection of human rights in the European Union, while in fact the leadership of the Human Rights Centre was to ensure the acquisition of strategically important and confidential information on the situation of the human rights in Europe, funding and organizing mass demonstrations actions of disobedience in the largest countries of the Old World, gathering compromising information about the leaders of the EU and MEPs of European Parliament and PACE that are criticizing Azerbaijan's leadership and calling for carrying out sanctions against the country.
According to the author, in anti-Israeli demonstrations and propaganda of anti-Semitic rhetoric play a significant role the activities carried out by EIHRC. The task of EIHRC was to develop close ties with Islamic fundamentalist organizations and to coordinate actions in case of deterioration of the Azerbaijani-Israeli and US-Azerbaijani relations. At the same time, Harry Murey a German lawyer of Jewish faith, famous European specialist in the field of international law was invited for the position of the chair, in order not to allow the French authorities to notice any catch, the "Reporter" notes.
For many people it was a sensation that the EIHRC activity was supervised from Baku by the head of the department of social and political issues of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov, who is known not only for his anti-American views, but also as one of the most corrupt public official.
"Criminal and recidivist Eynullah Fatullayev, living in Baku and known in criminal circles as "Fatya”, was involved in the case. Despite the fact that Eynullah Fatullayev has studied journalism and once has been among the employees of the country's most popular publications called "Monitor", he was never able to win the sympathy and respect of his colleagues," the newspaper notes, reminding that the final point in his career as a professional journalist put the quarrel with Elmar Huseynov, the chief editor of the "Monitor", who was a popular and respected human rights activist and journalist. After Huseynov’s death people were talking that "Fatya" has his part in this tragedy.
"In May 2011 by the decree of the President, Fatullayev who was previously detained, was pardoned and released from the prison. In less than a month Fatullaev founds information-analytical portal for the promotion of the Islamic values and a platform for anti-Semitic incitement and Russo-phobic propaganda," concludes the author of the article, recalling that in February 2012, Fatullayev, trying to provoke the growth of anti-Semitism in Azerbaijan, had stated that the arrests of religious leaders in Azerbaijan are supported by the Israeli and Jewish Diaspora
