Gegharkunik province has lowest rate of divorce in Armenia
Both marriage and divorce rates increased within the nine months of this year, Karine Kuyumjyan, head of the National Statistical Service’s Census and Demography Department, told reporters on Wednesday.
“14,348 marriages were recorded within nine months – a 6.5 percent increase compared with the same period of last year. There were 3,547 divorces and the growth made 28.1 percent,” Mrs Kuyumjyan said.
She added that the divorce rate was the highest in Lori province and the lowest in Gegharkunik.
