Hrachya Harutyunyan may be extradited to Armenia
The lawyers of Hrachya Harutyunyan, an Armenian driver involved in a road accident that occurred in Moscow last year, may begin the process to extradite him to Armenia, Yeranuhi Tumaniants, head of the Torture Prevention Department of the Armenian Ombudsman's Office, told Panorama.am.
Troitski Court of Moscow has sentenced Harutyunyan to 6 years and 9 months in prison.
Tumaniants said that the possibility of Harutyunyan’s return to Armenia has been discussed with his lawyers.
She added that he should file applications to Justice Ministers of Armenia and Russia and if there are no obstacles, he will be extradited to Armenia where he will continue serving his term.
