Haykakan Zhamanak: Large sums needed to ensure Armenia’s accession to EEU
Large sums are needed to ensure Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), to bring the country’s customs and other regulations in line with the EEU requirements, Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
“According to some estimates, the necessary sum amounts to up to $70 million, of which about $40 million is to be provided by the EEU member states and Russia. After several months of negotiations, the Armenian Ministry of Finance has no hope that it will get that sum. Reliable sources told us that the government plans to discuss how to find a source that will provide the $40 million,” the newspaper says.
