Armenian parliament approves temporary disability allowance bill
The National Assembly of Armenia on Monday approved the bill on temporary disability allowance.
It was approved with 68 votes for, one against, and no abstentions.
Prior to the vote, representatives of the non-government factions announced that they will not cast ballots. Member of ARF Dashnaktsutyun faction Artsvik Minasyan called on all those who are opposed to the bill not to participate in the vote.
Prosperous Armenia faction secretary Naira Zohrabyan said that the matter has serious risks. She added that Prosperous Armenia will not participate in the vote unless the possible risks are reduced to zero.
The bill proposes higher maternity benefits for non-working women at the expense of the working ones.
