Deputy Minister: Armenia’s accession to EEU will ensure stable economic growth
Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) will ensure a stable economic growth for the country, Armenian Deputy Minister of Finance Suren Karayan said in the parliament on Tuesday. His remark came in response to a question from opposition MP Hrant Bagratyan about the benefits Armenia will get from its membership in the EEU.
“The first year of membership will ensure a 1.5-2 percent growth of GDP. The effects of Armenia’s membership in the EEU and the indicators of economic growth will be visible to us in mid-2015,” said the official.
In addition, in his words, membership in the EEU will enable Armenia to attract new investments and will provide access to a 170-million consumer market.
