Increase in prices for agricultural products is due to growth of exports - NGO head
The increase in the prices for agricultural products in Armenia is mainly due to the growth of export volumes as well as to the fluctuations of the national currency exchange rate, Karen Chilingaryan, head of the Consumers’ Consulting Center NGO, told reporters on Tuesday.
In addition, he said, the food price hike is linked with the higher tariffs for electricity and gas.
According to the observations of the NGO, prices for flour, tomatoes, cucumbers, dairy products and buckwheat have gone up in the domestic market, Chilingaryan added.
