Azerbaijani authorities deprive oppositionist activist of citizenship
Opposition activist, a US citizen, Said Nuri, who in September announced that he was "thrown out of Azerbaijan" today wrote on his Facebook page, that he was deprived of the Azerbaijani citizenship, Azerbaijani information portal "Haqqin.az." reported.
As noted in the article, in his message Said Nuri used unflattering comments about the Azerbaijani authorities.
In early September, Nuri was denied to travel out from Azerbaijan, and at the evening of 11 September, he wrote in the social networks that he was asked to leave by midnight and never come back again. "The government of Azerbaijan is so fond of me that 7 people accompany me to the plane," he wrote.
Earlier the US State Department and human rights organizations condemned Azerbaijani authorities in connection with the refusal of the leave of Said Nuri.
