Pashinyan: EEU accession will isolate Armenia
Armenia’s entry into the Eurasian Economic Union endangers the country’s sovereignty, MP from opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Nikol Pashinyan announced in the parliament on Wednesday.
According to the oppositionist, the entry into the EEU will “isolate Armenia from the north and the south and will hinder the deepening of cooperation with Georgia and Iran.”
Pashinyan noted that after entering the EEU, Armenia will lose the opportunity to sign a free trade agreement with Iran and be a transit country for Iranian gas.
"I will vote against the ratification of the treaty, and not because I dislike Russia, but because I believe in the sovereign future of Armenia,” Pashinyan stated.
