US State Department comments on NKR National Assembly Speaker Ashot Ghulyan’s visit to Washington
"The disposition of the US government on Nagorno Karabakh remains unchanged. We remain committed to enabling all parties to reach a lasting agreement in resolving the conflict. We talked about it for a long time," said US State Department deputy spokesman Marie Harf, commenting on the participation of the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Ashot Ghulyan in an official reception marking the anniversary of the independence of Nagorno Karabakh, which was organized in Washington by the Armenian Embassy and the Assembly of Congress on the Armenian issues.
In its turn, the US co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, James Warlick, answering the question of the Azerbaijani news agency "APA" on his meeting with Ashot Ghulyan noted that as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, he believes it is important to hold discussions with all the parties in order to resolve the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. "We discussed the importance of reducing the tension created as a result of the incident, which occurred on the frontline on November 12, as well as the need for progress in negotiation process," he said.
