Customs border with Karabakh not discussed during talks on EEU accession – Zakaryan
The issue of setting up a customs border between Armenia and Nagorno- Karabakh was not discussed during talks on Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Artak Zakaryan, chairman of the Armenian National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, said on Wednesday.
His comment came in response to a question from Heritage faction head Ruben Hakobyan about Armenia’s plans in case one of the EEU member states raises the issue of establishing a customs point between Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
“Hypothetically, such a demand will create a new situation, a new status in the theoretical aspect. Naturally, this will imply that the bloc’s member states are trying to give a certain status to the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic,” said the parliamentarian.
