Aram Safaryan on relaunch of Abkhazian railway
The necessity of talks on the relaunch of the Abkhazian railway has increased following the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin, head of Integration and Development NGO Aram Safaryan told a press conference in Yerevan.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that by common consent, Russia and Abkhazia may organize Sukhumi-Tbilisi-Yerevan railway communication. In his words, the implementation of such projects will allow creating conditions for the development of relations among all the interested parties.
“This process should involve not only Abkhazia, Russia, Georgia and Armenia, but also Turkey, which has increased cargo transportation to Russia after the sanctions were imposed,” Safaryan said.
He added that public and political circles should hold active discussions on this matter.
