Haykakan Zhamanak: Gas prices to go up?
According to rumors, Gazprom Armenia may apply to Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission in February-March next year to “clarify” the tariff of natural gas, Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
“The dollar exchange rate has increased to 460 drams. Gazprom Armenia reportedly suffers losses as a result of the currency fluctuations, so it has to raise the gas tariffs by at least 5.7 percent to 164 drams. The need to increase the tariffs coincides with the timeframes of Armenia’s entry into the Eurasian Economic Union, and therefore it is not ruled out that the decision may be delayed until summer of next year,” the newspaper says.
