Seyran Ohanyan: Protected citizen in a protected country
Every person should be master of his own rights and the formula “Protected Citizen in a Protected Country” should work, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said at a discussion dedicated to the Human Rights Day.
The Minister said that the term “human rights protection” is more acceptable in the armed forces and this is the pillar of the country’s policy.
The official said that they do everything possible to reduce the cases of violation of soldiers’ rights, and continue the work to resolve the problems and tackle the omissions in the armed forces.
December 10 is Human Rights Day. This year’s slogan, Human Rights 365, encompasses the idea that every day is Human Rights Day. It celebrates the fundamental proposition in the Universal Declaration that each one of us, everywhere, at all times is entitled to the full range of human rights, that human rights belong equally to each of us and bind us together as a global community with the same ideals and values.
