Iskandaryan: Turkish gambit between Ankara and Moscow
Russia and Turkey are in a complex game, which Russian media call Turkish gambit, political analyst Alexander Iskandaryan told a press conference on Monday.
“I don’t know whether or not the gas pipeline between Russia and Turkey will be constructed,” said the analyst.
The expert said he is doubtful that the gas pipeline will reach Turkey. “Turkey, Georgia, and Azerbaijan have many common interests, including energy ones. Georgia does not want to give up the status of a transit country.”
Meanwhile, the analyst noted that the building of relations between these three countries cannot have a substantial impact on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement process.
