Chorrord Ishkhanutyun: Armenian language teachers to go to work in Iraqi Kurdistan?
It became known on Monday that Armenian has been recognized an official language in Iraqi Kurdistan. Kurdistan Region President signed the "law of the official languages" in Kurdistan Region, where Kurdish and Arabic are two official languages and Turkmen, Assyrian and Armenian are also considered as official languages in their respective departments.
A correspondent of Chorrord Ishkhanutyun newspaper talked to Ruzanna Muradyan, member of the Armenian National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport. Asked whether Armenian language teachers may go to work in Iraqi Kurdistan, she replied that this would be desirable.
The parliamentarian also said that Armenian teachers visit Armenian communities in the Diaspora now as well, although Armenian is not official language in those countries.
