Haykakan Zhamanak: Financial market is stabilizing
“One US dollar was purchased at a rate of 460 drams at Yerevan’s currency exchange offices on Monday,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
“The smaller difference between the sale and purchase rates shows that the sharp fluctuations in dram exchange rate are less likely now. But it is still early to speak about an absolute stabilization of the currency exchange market. After two days interval, yesterday, the Central Bank sold 2 million dollars to the banks through auction, whereas in the same period last year the Bank itself purchased dollars from the market,” the newspaper says.
