Armenian chess players in Al Ain
GM Tigran L. Petrosian beat GM Gaioz Nigalidze (Georgia) in the penultimate eighth round of the open chess tournament in Al Ain, UAE. Before the last round, Petrosian has scored 6.5 points out of 8, and is in the lead together with GM Vladimir Onischuk (Ukraine).
GMs Arman Pashikian, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan and Hovik Hayrapetyan each have 5.5, GM Levon Babujian and IM Manuel Petrosyan each 5, WGM Lilit Galojan 4.5, WGM Maria Kursova 4 points.
Today, in the central game of the last round, Tigran L. Petrosian will play with black pieces against Vladimir Onischuk, according to the official website of the Armenian Chess Federation.
