Growth in all economic sectors except construction in 2014
GDP grew 3.9 percent in the nine months of 2014, up from 2.8 percent last year, Armenian Minister of Economy Karen Chshmaritian said at a year-end press conference on Monday.
Citing statistical data, the official said that in 2014 the economic activity index increased from 2.3 percent to 4.3 percent in January-September, and made 3.8 percent in January-November, marking an increase compared with 2013.
“All economic sectors, except construction, recorded growth in January-November,” Chshmaritian said, adding that construction volumes declined 5.4 percent.
As regards industry, the Minister said that the volumes of industrial production increased slowly over the past six months - by 2.6 percent (1160.5 billion drams), services grew 7.1 percent (987.4 billion drams), agricultural production was up 6.5 percent (920.7 billion drams), and trade grew 4.2 percent (2076.5 drams).
