Shelling continues in Ukraine’s Donetsk
Shelling continues in several areas in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk, as well as around the Donetsk airport, where clashes between independence fighters and Kiev forces have resumed, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports, according to Sputnik News.
According to the correspondent, artillery strikes hit Donetsk on Tuesday evening and continued throughout the night. Several residential areas have been affected by the shelling, but there is no information on casualties among the civilian population.
On Tuesday, the Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe (OSCE) said in a statement that the situation near the Donetsk airport has deteriorated and more civilian casualties have been reported "elsewhere."
The Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, Ambassador Ertugrul Apakan, encouraged all sides to the Ukrainian conflict to enhance the implementation of the Minsk agreements, according to the statement.
