OSCE Mission’s monitoring stopped due to shooting from Azerbaijani side
On January 14, in accordance with the arrangement reached with the authorities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, the OSCE Mission conducted a planned monitoring of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan in the Hadrut direction near Horadiz settlement, the press service of the NKR Foreign Ministry said.
From the positions of the NKR Defense Army, the monitoring was led by Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Khristo Khristov (Bulgaria) and Jiri Aberle (Czech Republic).
From the opposite side of the Line of Contact, the monitoring was conducted by Field Assistant of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Yevgeny Sharov, Personal Assistant to the PR of the CiO Simon Tiller (Great Britain) and staff member of the Office Peter Svedberg.
The Karabakh side led the OSCE Mission to its frontline, but the monitoring was stopped due to the shots fired from the Azerbaijani side. The Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, from security considerations, took a decision to stop the monitoring.
Representatives of the NKR Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense accompanied the monitoring mission from the Karabakh side.
