Head of Russian Investigative Committee to visit Armenia
Head of the Armenian Investigative Committee Aghvan Hovsepyan had a phone conversation with head of the Russian Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin, the press service of the Armenian Investigative Committee reported.
The sides discussed issues related to the investigation of the murder of six members of the Avetisyan family in Gyumri.
Taking into account the peculiarities of the criminal case, Aghvan Hovsepyan invited Alexander Bastrykin to Armenia.
Mr Bastrykin accepted the invitation and an agreement was reached that he will arrive in Armenia on Monday.
Six members of one family were found dead in their house in Gyumri on Monday morning. A six-month-old baby was hospitalized with stab wounds and underwent surgery. Valery Permyakov, a serviceman of the 102nd Russian military base stationed in Gyumri, the main suspect in the murder, was detained by Russian border guards while attempting to cross the Armenian-Turkish border near Yerazgavors village in Armenia’s Shirak province. Permyakov is held in custody at the Russian military base.
