Gyumri Mayor offers to strengthen discipline at Russian military base
Mayor of Gyumri Samvel Balasanyan on Sunday conducted a consultation meeting with Acting Commander of the Russian Frontier Troops in Armenia S. Merzlikin, Commander of the 102nd Russian military base A. Ruzinski and Deputy Chief of Shirak regional police A. Grigoryan, according to the website of the Gyumri Municipality.
The meeting focused on measures aimed at easing tensions and preventing speculations and provocative moods.
The Russian side was offered to strengthen the discipline, establish control, carry out explanatory work and, in case any problems or questions arise, to inform the respective bodies as well as the Gyumri Municipality.
The Russian side agreed with Samvel Balasanyan’s proposals and noted that it is ready to strengthen the control as well as to take measures to tackle the mentioned problems.
