Hospital chief: Wounded soldier remains in critical condition
The health condition of Armenian serviceman Hovhannes Avanesyan, who was wounded in the attack by Azerbaijani special units on January 23, remains critical, Aram Asaturyan, head of the Central Clinical Military Hospital of the Armenian Defense Ministry, told Panorama.am.
“He remains in critical but stable condition,” Asaturyan said, adding that it is positive that his condition has not worsened.
The serviceman will undergo a spinal surgery after his condition stabilizes, he said.
On January 23, Azerbaijani special units attacked several military positions in Berd, Tavush province. Armenian forces detected the enemy in time. Fighting took place. It lasted about 30 minutes. Suffering casualties, the enemy was thrown back. Two Armenian servicemen were killed. Hovhannes Avanesyan suffered a serious injury. He underwent surgery in the hospital of Berd.
