Haykakan Zhamanak: Permyakov should be tried by Armenian court, Aghvan Hovsepyan’s brother says
Ruben Hovsepyan, a Republican MP, the brother of head of Armenian Investigative Committee Aghvan Hovsepyan, believes that Russian soldier Valery Permyakov, who is charged with murdering a family in Gyumri, should be tried by an Armenian court.
“I think he should be tried by an Armenian court,” he told Haykakan Zhamanak. In his words, “the Russian side can involve Permyakov in the case on the charge of desertion, and it should be up to the Armenian side to deal with the remaining matters.”
Ruben Hovsepyan praised the recent protests in Gyumri. He also said that he has not discussed this topic with his brother and this is his personal opinion.
