Protesting traders expect ‘final and unchangeable’ decision from government
The traders that gathered near the presidential residence are going back to the government building.
Representatives of small and medium businesses again gathered outside the government on Thursday. They are protesting against the amendment to the Law on Turnover Tax that will take effect on February 1.
The protesters decided to gather again outside the government at 11:00 am tomorrow. They will demand an answer from the government and a ‘final and unchangeable’ solution to their problem.
The traders also decided that they will stop working if the law enters into force on February 1.
On November 11, 2014 the Armenian parliament adopted in the first reading draft amendments to the Law on Turnover Tax, under which the turnover tax for business entities in trade will be reduced from 3.5% to 1%, but document circulation is mandatory. The protesters demand revocation of the amendment.
