Expert: Armenian-Turkish Protocols should be abolished by April 24
The Pan-Armenian Declaration on the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide sent a clear message to Turkey – to confront history, and to the world – to acknowledge this crime, Turkish studies expert Ruben Melkonyan told reporters on Tuesday.
He noted that the Declaration clearly refers to international law, historical scientific and political scientific sources. “It also mentions work towards the elimination of the consequences of the Armenian Genocide, which also implies our demand.”
In the expert’s words, the Armenian-Turkish Protocols should be abolished de jure by April 24. He expressed confidence that some steps will be taken in that direction.
