David Tonoyan discusses exchange of missing persons’ data with ICRC official
Armenian Deputy Defense Minister David Tonoyan on Tuesday received Head of the ICRC Delegation to Armenia Sarah Epprecht.
According to the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry, they discussed the possible ways for exchanging data on persons missing as a result of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Sarah Epprecht said that the ICRC considers as a priority to resolve the fate of the around 4,500 persons missing in the wake of the Nagorno-Karabakh war.
Mr Tonoyan said for his part that the Armenian Defense Ministry is willing to cooperate with the Azerbaijani side - under the auspices of the ICRC - on the exchange of the missing persons’ data, to ensure the implementation of norms of international humanitarian law.
