100-car crash near Seoul airport leaves two dead, dozens injured
At least two people died and more than 60 were injured in a 100-vehicle collision near an airport in Seoul on Wednesday, Yonhap news agency reported, citing police, according to Sputnik News.
The accident took place at 9:34 a.m. local time (00:34 GMT) when an Incheon International Airport bus crashed into a car on the Seoul-bound part of the bridge that links the mainland part of the city with the island the airport is located on.
A police official was quoted by the agency as saying that the accident might have been caused by fog and speeding.
More than 60 people were reported to have been taken to the city's hospitals with injuries, with eight of them in serious condition.
The body of the first victim has been transported to a hospital in the northern Seoul suburb of Goyang, according to police.
The Seoul-bound section of the bridge, as well as some lanes of the airport-bound section, have been closed.
