Security forces liberate three villages in Riyad district in Kirkuk
A security source in Iraq’s Kirkuk province announced on Wednesday that the security forces backed with volunteer fighters (al-Hashd al-Sha’bi forces) managed to free three villages in Riyad district, southwest of Kirkuk from the ISIS control, IraqiNews.com reports.
The source told IraqiNews.com, “A military force and the volunteer fighters advanced, today, towards Riyad area (55 km southwest of Kirkuk), and managed to free three of its villages from the control of ISIS.”
The source, who requested anonymity, added: “The forces continue to liberate that side of Riyad,” adding that, “They are now heading for its center.”
