EEU Customs Code may be signed by end of this year
Member of the Board-Minister for Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission Vladimir Goshin has expressed the hope that the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) will be signed by the end of the current year.
“We hope the new document will be signed this year and we will live under new customs legislation from January 1, 2016,” Goshin told a news conference in Astana, according to RIA Novosti.
He noted that the draft document was sent for coordination to the Customs Union member countries in December 2014.
Among the innovations of the agreement he mentioned electronic document circulation, automatic entry of goods without the participation of customs inspector, adding that the information on exports and imports will be provided only in the form of customs declaration.
