I hope to have press conference in Armenian – new U.S. Ambassador
The new U.S. envoy to Armenia has said he has followed Armenia-U.S. cooperation for 25 years and is proud to be the United States’ Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia.
Speaking at his first news conference in Yerevan, Richard Mills said he studied Armenian in Washington, but his knowledge of Armenian is still insufficient for communication.
“I hope during my time in office I will have the opportunity to have a press conference in Armenian,” he said.
“My first 36 hours in Armenia were very busy,” Mills said, noting that during that time he had a meeting with the Armenian Foreign Minister and President.
The envoy noted that he told the Armenian President that he will work in Armenia to secure their goal: free and prosperous Armenia, which lives with its neighbors in peace, and in the first months of his tenure he would like to hear more opinions and ideas on how Armenia and the United States should work together to secure their object.
